Id love to have more data on it. I KNOW the .50 would leave a big hole....but the FPE figures out quite whimpy.

350 FPE for the reg. pressure....mediocre 9mm energy level.

540 FPE for the +P pressure....moderate 40-45 energy levels.

Im hoping for 10mm energy levels....................But IM ADDICTED TO RECOIL ALSO! :D

Shoot well............

"the FPE figures out quite whimpy"

yes, but w/modern hollowpoint construction, you're going to be making a big, big permanent cavity, with not much more in the way of recoil....

I'd love to see this become a production gun...

oh goodness!

twice the price of a Valtro - but if I had the money, I would get one.

Energy is not the whole story - that size bullet will dump the energy much quicker than a 9mm and will make a BIG hole.

This is perfect for the ones who say: I carry a .45 because they don't make a .50!

I'll admit that it LOOKS like a .50 AE

But IS it? Why would these guys call the caliber .50 "GI" ?

Another thing.. the claim made is that the round can be WAY uploaded from factory pressures......I would assume we are looking at non +P loads here...

While that is nice, they've got the price listed as $2895.00

I paid alot less for my Brushed Chrome DE .50AE.

The .50AE has an OAL about that of a rimmed mag round (e.g., .357, .44, etc.). The GI looks to be the about the same as that of the .45 ACP, much shorter.

Something really wierd happened to this thread.. I was the one who originated it.. with the first post of mine that you see on this thread...
Your post was merged with another one that had been going on for a few days.

The .50 GI is a different cartridge from the .50 AE. That's why they gave it a different name. ;)

It has a much shorter overall length and about half the muzzle velocity. On the other hand, it is small enough to fit in a 1911 platform.

While the higher loads(300 grains, 900 FPS) might be kinda cool, the standard load does not impress me and the price tag.... oy. :what:
