Here in my area a bad guy with a rifle had an officer pinned down behind his patrol car. Good guy took out the BG from about ~30 yards with a 357 revolver.
It doesn’t hurt to occasionally practice unlikely scenarios, if for no other reason than confidence.

I've belonged to numerous shooting associations. All of the previously mentioned shared the same occurrence, the 50Yd line was the least used shooting line. Those associations that had 10-7&3 yard lines, were the most used by the membership and or their guests. The 25Yd line was a stretch for most individuals. I remember monthly club membership meetings were the use of noun Bullseye targets were discussed with the majority voicing the opinion that humanoid shaped targets should be allowed. What is common today was not that common twenty to thirty years in the past.
