This is the poster family for armed protection at home. Well done!!

I would be happy to go in on a shotgun or carbine for this gentleman, at least until the Chicago handgun ban is repealed.

perhaps something both he and his wife (who I assume is of similar age) can comfortably use?

if anyone (presumably living in Illinois) is taking donations, let me know and I'll send a check for part of the purchase price.

If the shooter would be charged and found not guilty, would it mean that from that point on the restriction would be kind of lifted? I don't know how you would call that in America, but as the legal system in my country goes, a judgement like this could be used as an example for all further trials. So if that's the case, wouldn't it actually be good if he was charged for the illegal possession of the pistol? Assuming that the "high profile" lawyer really is good enough to destroy the case, of course.

Have you seen this guys picture?

Have you seen the mugshot of this guy? He looks like a clown...one of those creepy clowns from that Stephen King movie "IT"

Nelson (see prison photo at right) had a 13-page rap sheet that includes a number of drug and weapons convictions dating to 1998, according to police and court records. He lived less than a mile from the home he broke into. Neighbors recognized him from his mug shot as a man they had seen at the corner liquor store who went by the name "Big Ant."

"I just don't want to believe it's true," said his mother, Lenora Nelson, who said her son earned his GED while in custody and had just signed up for an online carpentry program. "He could fix almost anything," she said. Nelson was supposed to begin a job next week for a company that cleans out homes before they're remodeled, she said.

While I know his mother is grieving, because Mom always loves you, but a guy with a 13 page rap sheet is going to cause a lot less damage to society under the ground, then if he was above the ground.

Looks like the old man fixed something the thug wouldn't.
