Need a little help.
I'm putting together a Remington 870 "trench" gun.
Just ordered one of the lugs from S&J.
What I'd like to do is be able to sling carry the gun with bayo attached.
The S&J lug doesn't have a swivel on it so I'm going to have to attach a second tube clamp just ahead of the magazine cap screw.
All the models of clamps I've seen have the sling swivel head on the side of the clamp. I want it to be on the bottom. Remington makes a band very similar to this but it has to be mounted on the tube ring indentation out near the muzzle. That won't allow me to sling carry with the bayo attached.
Have any of you seen a tube/barrel clamp (that can be mounted anywhere along the mag tube) that has the swivel on the bottom?
A second option would be a swivel band that mounts to the tube similar to the swivel band clamps that mount on a rifle barrel.

Thanks

Why would you want to sling arms with the bayonet mounted? Just a thought here, I have a collection of military/tactical shotguns(when I started they were the cheapest gun to collect), and I have carried weapons professionally for 45+ years now. That time includes a lot of shotgun usage. I carried one in my various US Army aircraft, then as an LEO, later as a security/LE trainer overseas.
Keeping the bayonet mounted will slow down your gun handling, possibly affect your aiming(yes, you have to aim a shotgun), and could be dangerous to yourself and friendlies in some situations. The bayonet has a specific purpose, that is close in combat when you have no ammo, and in some scenarios, riot/crowd/mob control.
I have a few SGs that can mount a bayonet, all of them are ex military guns except my 590A1. The older Winchesters can mount an impressive length knife on the end, but most people are not 18" thick, so why carry extra metal?
When I have carried a SG for serious social encounters, I prefer a good knife to a bayonet, although a good bayonet can be a good combat knife. For my money one of the best combat knives you can get is the "trench knife" issued to paratroops in WWII. They were also issued a bayonet, and in many cases an issue folding kinfe. They are reasonably cheap, hold a good edge, and are made for people slicing. When I participated in the Govt. sponsored travel tours of SE Aisa (3.5 of them) I carried one of them and I also carried a Randall #14 that I bought after basic in 62. The Randall was an excellent all around knife, but for folksy encounters I prefer the trench knife. Lighter and slimmer, and you don't cry when you lose it. I have never broken one. The vaunted Marine KBar is also a pretty good choice.
Getting back to your thought of a fixed bayonet, what are you going to use it for? HD? Unless you are a military professional, I would suggest that you refrain from using a bayonet on anyone. It will be used to show what a bloodthirsty monster you are, in the unlikely event that an untrained person survives his own attack with one. For HD or SD you do not want to be shooting any of the locals off the end of your bayonet, if you get by the criminal possibilities of the aftermath, you WILL lose big time in the civil suit. And I can promise you if you use a bayonet as a civilian, there will be a civil suit, and you are going to wish you had lost the fight. This goes for any knife usage when you had a firearm available.
I would also like to point out that any usage of a blade is by necessity up close and real personal. And I mean real personal! Like getting sprayed with the BGs blood, getting slimed with his entrails if you are proficient, it will leave an impression on you that will never forget. I have seen seasoned troopers vomit after a slashing/stabbing encounter, guys who are tougher than you or I will ever be.
Now for the last good bit; if you engage in a kinfe fight, chances are quite good that you will be cut, and any such cut is no fun. you have a shotgun so you do not have to engage in this stuff, use it properly. OK, EOR (end of rant).

I can't find it listed on their new web site, but Uncle Mike's make an almost exact copy of the Remington factory clamp. It'll fit anywhere on the tube, and has a swivel mount on the bottom.

Tank's Rifle Shop sell the clamp:

(Tank's HD Barrel Clamp, down the page)

Also, you might contact Uncle Mike's for the clamp direct.
