I am looking for a clamp-on swivel mount for my Winchester Defender that will allow the swivel to be attached at the bottom, rather than the side, of the magazine tube.

I have found the ATI clamp with stud that will allow me to attach it to the side but that isn't what I am looking for. I want to install a sling in the conventional manner rather than the 'tactical' manner. I do have the original screw on mag cap with the swivel stud but that puts the end of the sling too high for my tastes. Makes carrying it very uncomfortable not to mention the end of the barrel is pretty much even with my neck and I would prefer it to be a little higher.

I have searched high and low and can't find anything. Seems like a simple collar made from aluminum that would secure to the mag tube with a stud is what I am looking for. If you have any ideas, fire away.

Thanks,
Greg

Uncle Mike's is the answer, I think- assuming I understand what you are looking for. They make a copy of the magazine clamp/swivel base like Remington uses on 870Ps and 870HDs with factory extensions, it serves double duty as a magazine clamp and as a front sling swivel stud located on the bottom of the mag extension.

Note the Remington extensions have a notch to retain the cross screw in place, other factory extended/ extension magazines will lack that feature. Tighten it up so it stays in place...

Take a look at http://www.hoppes.com/adtemplate.asp?invky=9004492&catky=1279575&subcatky1=4548843&subcatky2=2000180 and see if that won't do it...

Yep. I believe that is exactly what I am in the market for.

Thanks,
