Can anybody tell me how to take the sling swivel stud off a factory remington 870 magazine tube clamp?

I've seen pictures of remy factory mag tube clamps without the rattling sling stud on the bottom of it.
like this one. http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/MTAxN1gxNDc3/$(KGrHqN,!lMF!i,Iee7RBQ,ZjI6F6g~~60_35.JPG

I tried to figure out a way to take off the swivel stud, but it doesn't screw off or anything.

Does anyone know how to do that?
Thanks.

The sling swivel mount stud is staked in place and is difficult to remove without damaging the clamp.

You can use a file to file the staking off the inside of the clamp, then support the clamp on a bench block and use a large punch to drive it out.
You have to be careful to get as much staking off as possible and take great care not to distort the clamp as you tap the stud out.

Another option would be to trade your clamp with someone who has a clamp without the stud and wants one.
You could post a "Trade" ad in most gun forum Classified sections.
Be careful to get the EXACT same clamp that you have. Some of the older clamps were smaller and don't fit the newer guns extension and barrel correctly.

Another option would be to soak the clamp in alcohol to remove all oil, then give the stud a shot of Loctite to lock it in place and stop any rattling.

Thanks for the help, guys. I think Ill leave it alone.

I keep thinking that my shotgun needs to have attachments that aren't noisy, but it's a shotgun, it's supposed to be noisy. :)
