I'm right-handed, don't think that will work too well.Have you tried using that shell holder for a quick reload?
I think you will find it will work better on the other side of the stock, brass down instead of up.

So I'm supposed to have the shells up against my cheek? It will work better, and be faster. You'll find that experienced righthanded shooters will load shotshells into the mag and/or ejection port with their left hand. Then there are the 3-gun guys, some of whom are insanely fast, quad-loading. That's four shotshells in the weak hand, swiping two (in tandem) at a time into the bottom of the receiver. The shotgun is turned upside down, on it's axis, with the strong hand.
That setup just feels right!
Good deals come and go. When I got mine, there were no good deals to be had so I bought new.I just got an "e-mail special" flyer yesterday from Southern Ohio Gun (www.southernohiogun.com) and they have Remington 870 Police Magnum used shotguns on sale for $209. 18" cylinder choke barrels with bead sights, full synthetic stocks, excellent bores, good original finish, used by police department and in good condition overall. $10 handpick option available.
Not trying to shill for SOG, but I have bought several firearms from them recently and been very happy. I figured this was "on topic".
