I've had a 9mm carbine for some years, then back in '13, I decided to add a 40 to match at that time, my wife's M&P40. 40s fell by the wayside at our place here.
I wanted a Hi-point in 45, but was hoping ro trade up with someone.
Then a few weeks ago, I heard a guy at work had done a side job, and and part of the payment was a Hi-point in 45. I knew he has a M&P40 Shield. Asked if he wanted to trade. He agreed, saying he wanted to hunt with it. Okay. We traded pretty much what each other had in them.
His had a under $100 Bushnell scope and 2 mags. and stock 2-mag holder. Mine had 5 mags + 2-mag holder. Both of ours was very good condition. I was pleased with trade.
About a week ago, he mentioned that shotgun season was over, and really didn't care to keep the Hi-point. I knew I had about $400 paid out for everything on the 40. Before I could stop myself, I said I would give him $250 for it. Deal!
So here I am, with 3 Hi-Point carbines.
Either I stick it back for a future sale, or maybe I get another break and someone will have a 10mm carbine that will want to trade. Never know. :D

Lol, yeah im waiting for the 10mm. I have a 9 and love it. They are so cheap no reason not to have one in every caliber lol....least youll always have one that you can get ammo for.

True, though I seriously doubt I would get the one in 380. :)

I thought the same thing till i shot one.
The .380 variant seems stupid in addition to the 9, but its such a smooth shooting combo i think it has a place. Recoils almost exactly like a .22mag and the report is much quieter than the 9.
I think the action stays closed longer and moves slower on the .380.

I have the ol' fugly 9, before the tactical stock. I hqve thought about ordering a new stock, but the looks has kind of grown on me. Looks like an anorexic rhino.

Actually I have a line on one of the older ones like that. I don't really like the old or new stocks. I might get an ATI stock for it either way. The last round hold open on the newer ones would be nice.

I have mine in the ati stock and realy like it. The trigger guards larger so if your inclined you can add a trigger shoe.

I looked into the ATI stocks a while back. Just never pursued it. Maybe one day, who knows. :)

One thing for sure about the old vs. new stock. The new is easier to tear down, which isn't often. Usually just a bore snake here and there.

There are 15's and 20's availible but they look kind of silly being single stack. They need a double stack mag in the worst way. Either way I'm going to get one. 10 rounders will just keep shooting a bit cheaper.

I dont mind the 10rnd mags, but thats really just me.
Ive never particularly enjoyed mag dumps (except from my .458). So even with my mini and Ar my normal mags a 10rnder.
Also unless im just spraying stuff more than 10rnds or so and im losing concentration, or running out of stuff to shoot at, before I empty the mag. So i may as well run out, and talk to whom ever else is around while i load another.

I suppose if I were around a set up like Hickok45 has, maybe, but with paper targets, I stick with 5-10 rds. per magazine.

I don't quite have Hickoks setup but I have 4 200 yard rifle plates and about a dozen pistol plates at about 15-25 yards at my home range. I would like to also get a set of silhouette targets like he has and a torso sized 100 yard gong for pistol lobbing and offhand rifle. I've progressed as far as I think I can in 25 yard off hand pistol shooting so now I want to start pushing the range out and working on speed. I think the high point will be an affordable way to do more offhand rifle practice at moderate range and be able to shoot my soft steel pistol plates
