I have a Beretta 92 FS in stainless. If you turn the gun upside down, on the bottom of the slide on the flat edge just back of the nose taper beside the frame extension are three evenly spaced little dimples. They look as if they are 'original' and were milled/drilled not punched as there is no metal raised around the edges. Any idea what they might be for? Only thing I can think of is places where the slide was tested for hardness but they do not look like similar spots I have seen on knives, etc. where that was done. Thanks. Guess I'm thinking too much, huh?
