I worked odd jobs in the 90’s to save up for my first gun and wanted a lever action. Torn between Browning, Marlin, and Winchester, I chose the Marlin (I think based on the microgrove marketing and Annie Oakley history). I owned the Marlin for about a week and something sheared off in the action causing it to bind solid. Returned it and used the money for a 9422.
I still have that gun and my kids shoot it. Beautifully balanced and the blueing is worn off the bottom of the receiver from numerous crow, squirrel, and rabbit fiascos when I was a kid.
