I went to the range/gun store today with my wife and we decided that my Kel Tec Sub 2000 just isn't for us. On the way out I asked the salesman about 9mm carbines and wound up leaving with a great deal on a new CZ Skorpion carbine.
I really like the way it handles. Feels well balanced, good ergonomics. I like the placement of the charging handle on the left hand guard, similar to a FAL. The mag release and safety are both ambidextrous. The mag release is on the trigger guard for quick changes. The top has a rail and hand guard has m lok attachment points. Also has attachment points for a sling. Came with two 20 round mags and I checked the website and confirmed that extras are only about $20. The stock has 3 adjustable lengths and folds to the right for easier storage.
We only caught the last 10 minutes of range time so we only able to shoot 50 rounds but I was highly impressed. Crisp trigger, almost no recoil and quick follow up shots. 50 rounds went by pretty quick.
In the target all shots were standing off hand at about 10 meters. The ragged group on the left was the first 10. Michael is 12.
Even though we got a good deal, because of the price i wouldn't have really considered buying it, my wife had to talk me into to it. But now that I have one, it's so much fun to shoot I'm going to stay busy on the Hornady LNL trying to feed it. Need to head over to RMR.
Pictures of the carbine itself later
