I currently don't own a 9mm, and I am having a terrible time deciding one. I really like the price of the EAA Tanfolio steel frames. I have always wanted a sig 226. There is always the glock, but the XD's seem a bit more to my liking and the grip angle is preferable. I want to add one to the stable soon, but I need your help!

You cant beat a glock but you did say you liked the feel of the XD better. The XD IMO is a great gun you might want to try on a S&W M&P it has more of a 1911 feel to it and is not as thick as a glock or XD.

Check out the FNP-9, as well. I have one and love it. Never a problem through 800 rounds fired.

Get the Sig. You said you always wanted one. Yeah they might be a little more pricey, but in the long run you'll be spending at least 10 times the difference in cost of the gun on ammo, so a small price difference now is nothing.

LEO trade in - he went to a range and shot one as well as a CZ
75B ( like mine ) and went with the SIg. He's happy with his Sig

I feel pretty generic, but I voted for the Glock. I think everyone should have at least one 9mm Glock. I have a beloved 226 also, but I can't say I get more gun for the extra $200.
I don't think any of the options you offered are bad so grab the one you want... except that I am not a fan of Tanfoglio's pot metal steel frames. If I buy a metal frame, it must be machined from forged billets.

I voted Sig 226. I've owned a 226 and XD but ended up selling both. The 226 was my preference between the two, however.
As mentioned by others, I think you owe it to yourself to consider the M&P as well.

Out of the choices listed, I would go with the XD since I have an XD .40 and it shoots very well.
Keep in mind that Ruger has some nice choices in the 9mm.

I like the XDs better than glocks but the sigs are better, but also cost more. If you want cheap cheap but functional, glock, if you want real quality, go Sig. If youve never shot one, find a local range that rents pistols and shoot one.

True... I was after an HK P30L. SWEEEEEET gun. but, almost twick the tag of the Glock 17. Check ou the HK if you want to drool a bit.

+1 on the S&W Third Generations. I have a S&W 5906TSW that I've really enjoyed. They're bigger, and heavier, but very robust and good looking (IMHO) pistols. Pretty easy to shoot, too - even with hot loads; the weight and balance of the gun soaks up a lot of the felt recoil. Plus, I'm partial to DA/SA guns. SA trigger pull on my Tactical is nice and crisp. Got a great deal, too - it was one of the Colorado Springs PD guns, but was basically LNIB condition. I have a lot of respect for the way those guys took care of this gun. I field strip after every range outing, and I can tell they did, too (doesn't everybody?).

I like my M&Ps in 9, I really like my P226s and CZ75s and 92Fs, I <heart> my BHPs, but my FAVORITE full size 9mm is my Kimber Stainless II.
I'd give a strong recommendation to the Walther P99 AS, but I suppose that is more of a mid-size pistol rather than a full size. More along the size of a Glock 19. Still a great pistol. Mine is still pretty new but is 100% through 1030 rounds.

The SIG P226 with Tritium night sights, unbeatable combination in my opinion.
Don't compromise, maybe an H&K USP could tie, but for the money the SIG is the one.

I left out the M&P because I really know nothing about them, but I am not against looking into one. I also left out the CZ. I assume the CZ and Tangfolio both are evolutions of the Browning design? They seem close in appearance, so I am not aware of what the big differences would be. Any good Eastern NC places to check all these out? My local shop is thin in choice and $$$ in price on everything. When I purchased my 1911, I knew I wanted a 1911, and all I had to do was find the one that fit me. The amount of choice in 9mm is daunting and has me stumped. Thanks for all the comments!
