That's good to hear. I'm leaning in that direction. I also have a guy that wants my Hi Power, but I'll not sell it until I have a gun in hand and I know it works with my reloads.

I have a STI 9mm Trojan. It's an outstanding pistol. I use it for plate shooting. 4000 rounds of cast bullet handloads through it with no problems. Best group: .26" 5 shots off a bench at 7 yards (the distance we shoot plates at) with a 124 gr Lee RN lead bullet and W231 powder.

The recommendations for the STI Trojan keep coming in. Lead bullets at that. I just started loading for the 9. Right now all I have is 115 FMJ. It's great to hear those guns can handle lead. I asked about Brazos on another site. So far, all reports are they are a top notch company to deal with. Never had a custom gun. Hope I don't spend more time looking at it than shooting it.

Sent him an E-mail. Not sure how to order a gun as I've never done it before. There are FFLs around here that say they will handle this. Just want to make sure I do this right.

That STI is very nice looking.

STI doesn't seem to do 3 dot sights on most of their models - just all black target sights and 2 dot sights. I'd probably own an STI if they had more sight options.

I think I have everything I need for the order. Hope the gun shoots good when I get it. Since all I do is plink, he said the gun would be perfect for that.

I hope an STI rangemaster 9x19 in 3 or 4 weeks (time for certification and paperwork).
2 box of manufactured FMJ for maiden, then steady diet of home cast (Lee 358-105-SWC) planned.
I still didn't found a 9mm that I'll kept, tried Ruger P85 (efficient, not enough accurate) and Browning HP (traded for a 1911 .45).
I love 1911, so I've great expectation.
(I'll grab also an STI 22 Marvel conversion)

Well, it's official. The gun is on order. $1189 puts the gun at my FFL and he's going to charge $25 for the transfer. I just have to wait a little for Brazos to put their final touch on it with the high performance package. Should take about 2 weeks since he has the gun in stock.

All the STI's at my club are shooters, and very reliable. I was torn between the STI and the SA when I called John at Proload and he was holding a 9mm Baer. Two day shipping and no waiting period, and I already had a Baer in .45. Couldn't not go that route.

Good choice, and you will love the gun.

I shoot 124 gr lead round nose from a local caster almost exclusively. Shooting over 4.1 gr Red Dot at the moment.

I absolutly love my SA Loaded 9 target!, my favorite handgun i own. but honestly the STI Trojan would be just as good or better!!

I'm setup to reload for the 9, but I'll shoot the China Sports ammo through it to break it in. I bought a crap load of the stuff years ago when you could get it for around 120 bucks a thousand. Works fine in my High Power and the KG 99 I used to have. Glad to see The STI shoots lead bullets just fine. To learn on this caliber, I bought some 115 gr FMJs and they work just fine in the Browning. I think they're Hornady bullets. I'll swap to lead when I'm more comfortable loading in this caliber. I have a crap load of 308s loaded up for my DPMS LR-308B for testing. But the mags are bad. Waiting on them to send me new ones. That's why I asked all these questions. I don't want two pretty guns that can't shoot. I have a guy that wants my Hi Power. But I won't sell it until I make sure this gun runs.
