I am wanting to use regular Clays to load up some 9mm bullets...124gr FMJ. I've used other powders for 9mm but I happen to have a good bit of Clays on hand and other powders are a bit hard to find in these recent time.

Anybody got any loading info they'd care to share?

Thanks.

When you do look up the data for Clays under a 124gr FMJ bullet in the 9mm you will find a VERY small load range. Be very careful not to over charge because pressures will spike if you're off just a little, it's an extremely fast powder.

I know powder is hard to find but do you have anything else on hand that might work better? If you have anything else list it here and maybe it's a better choice and we can tell you that.

Yeah, Clays is a bit temperamental for the 9mm. I never use it for anything other than light lead loads in revolvers.
Got anything else?

How about some Universal Clays...I found a bottle of that in the back of my shelf.

124gr 9 MM-FMJ

I have loaded and shot many rounds of 9 FMJ using 3.6 gr of H-Clays.It makes the IDPA 125K power factor and shoots clean and accurately. This is with PD 124 FMJ.A good thing about H Clays is a double charge will overflow the case and be very obvious.:)

Much better choice than Clays. Universal is very similar to Unique but it meters better and it burns cleaner. Universal will work well for you in the 9mm. (I use mostly W231/HP-38)
