Need Reload Data 9mm Hornady 124gr XTP

JO JO, it is interesting Hodgdon listed 5.1 gr of HS-6 at 971 fps and 33,100 PSI with 1.069" OAL for 125 gr HAP bullet while Hornady listed 5.1 gr at 900 fps with 1.060" OAL for 124 gr XTP bullet.

I wonder what the pressure measurement was at 5.9 gr and 1050 fps with the XTP bullet?

sorry, I mean about 1 grain difference. I've seen 5.9 max and 6.8 max for both the JHP.

Thanks for walking with me through this problem You got me thinking, I'm not sure if I'll have enough case volume with the XTP and HS6. I'll work up a dummy load tomorrow and see if I can push out my OAL to create more space.

Edit--it appears HS6 is denser compared to Clays and WST. I can fit a whopping 9 gr in the case. Obviously I won't do that since I'll be starting at the min. But I have plenty of room to reduce the OAL if need be. My max OAL for the 124gr XTP is 1.145"

Got snowed in yesterday and today so I spent some time calculating and measuring powder volumes. Again, thanks everyone for the help. I wish I hand a chrono do measure these loads as I work them up. Right now, I'll I have to go by is feel and visually inspecting the primer.

My 124 gr XTP loads with different powders & chrono data

I believe these are all well within published load parameters, but use at your own risk, as COL and components vary.

I sorted my spreadsheet by the bullet - 124 gr Hornady XTP. I've loaded and shot a bunch of these.

All of these have been tested within the last couple of years at various temperatures.

You can see the different powders, grains of powder, and COL.

The only two (in gray) that I haven't tested yet, are within published data but are my "best guess" at where I want to start for near-max velocity with HS-6 and Blue Dot powders.

Start low and work up, as your results may vary. But I hope this helps, if for nothing else than to give you some "background" of where I've been with the 124 XTP in 9mm. Mostly shot from Taurus Mil G2 & PT 92.
