9mm suggestions please

Disregard my earlier post. I thought the OP was after a carry gun.

Get the Shadow 2. I recently sold a Hi Power in .40. Great shooter too, but the CZ is at least a notch above. There's a good reason they are so popular in competition shooting.

I have medium sized hands and the M92 Berettas fit me like a glove- the P226 is just a hair too fat for my comfort, but still useable. The CZ75 is also a good fit for me, though Ive yet to actually own one.

Any of these 3 is a fine gun and you cant go wrong. Towards the upper end of your budget, consider the SIG P210 as well- amazing trigger, svelte grip and lines, outstanding accuracy and sights.

I second the P210, especially the Target or Carry models.

Hello, kind of a neighbor. Not a close one but within easy driving distance.

Having medium sized hands I find the Baretta 92 a tad too fat to suit me. The 1911 is my favorite 9mm to play with with the Sar B-6 next. It's a CZ-75 knockoff with a plastic frame which is slightly smaller than than the CZ and with traction grips applied I find it very comfortable to shoot. I let a like new CZ-75 get away from me recently by taking too long to make up my mind about buying it. You have a much larger shopping base than I do so good luck with your search for a 9mm.

1500 dolla budget....

A CZ75 shadow 2 orange or one of the other enhanced versions of the 75 or just buy a standard 75b(with the decocker) and spend the rest on a holster and ammo.

A Beretta M9A3 or M9A4 would be good choices. I have the A3 and it is sweet. Tritium night sights, slimmed grips, rails on the front underside, can be found with 3 17 shot magazines included, just all around of of the best 9mm handguns on the market.

The Sig 226 Legion SAO is fabulous. All metal, hammer fired, with a storied history. It’s one of those next level guns with massive street cred and you can get it with a red dot if so inclined.

And, I'd be remiss if I did not send you looking for a Star Modelo B (or a Model BM, the slightly smaller version).
Or a Llama Max-1.
Good, old-fashioned, steel firearms.
There's not a huge amount of collector interest in the Spanish firearms, so, sometimes you can get good deals on them.

OK, I have way to much free time on my hands right now and i have been thinking I "need" a semi auto 9mm that is not plastic-got some glocks in the safe, but want to try something else. Been considering the CZ 75 or some variation of the CZ or a beretta 92 of some flavor. Really like the idea of the beretta M9 22lr to start then move up to a nicer model beretta. Glocks are fine, just bulky in my hands and again...plastic.

Anyway...I know the "get to the store and handle it before you buy it, shoot if you can before spending the cash" deal-

I am just wondering what YOUR favorite 9mm is for the spending the day at the gun range

lets say $1500 or less is the budget, unless of course the wilson combat EDC or something else is worth the extra $$...buy once cry once wink

yall have some fun with this please!!

Dave
CZ-75 has a trigger more like a revolver than like a good striker fired firearm.
Recommend Dan Wesson PM-9 (great workmanship and fit) 1911

Look for an original 90's era Sig 228, made in Germany. You won't be disappointed. I'v kept mine all these years cause I'v handled no finer 9MM than that one.

Good choices, especially a 9mm Commander, the HiPo and the P210.
Kp321, you actually have a 952? We are not worthy to be on the same forum!
Had a 1911 in 9mm (which is the way to go in .45); the Commander size is better for the 9mm.

I have very long hands. The Beretta 92 INOX that I have owned for 30+ years fits very nicely in my hand and is an excellent pistol. My CZ-75 compact is much too small in my hand and the curved trigger is very uncomfortable and bits my trigger finger.

A 1911 in 9mm is really hard to beat in a range gun! It would probably be my first choice if I were buying a range gun.

BUT it really comes down to what fits you and your hand best! What fits me best and works the best for me is pretty irrelevant to what will be best for you.

Sar K12 Sport is an excellent range toy. Another CZ clone, it has excellent ergos, a great trigger, is very accurate and good looking as well!

If old school is your thing, a S&W 1st, 2nd or 3rd gen pistol can fill the slot very well. I have a 39-2 and a 5906, but are excellent for the range.

Gotta take a pic of the 5906…

Anyway, any of those three can be had for $400-$600…for $1500, a 952 or a P210 would be on the menu.

A Hi-Power is the obvious answer. I have a Charles Daly.

when Browning realized he could do better than the 1911, this is what he made.
