JMOfart(lefthanded)O:

If you are determined to have a decocker, I highly recommend the 3rd Generation S&W 6906..

The 6906 is basically a double-stack 3913 with ambi-decockers, and offers 13+1 capacity.. I also have the 3913, and 3913LS, and they are both very nice, but single stack and the LS only has a decocker on the off-side for us lefties.

Additionally, the higher capacity 15rd. mags of the 5906 can be used in the 6906 (with the S&W +2 adapter) and then you get 15+1 capacity, and the longer mag fits, functions, and looks factory.

Another choice is the CS9. The CS9 is a bit easier to conceal, and very nice, but with a single stack offers less capacity.

Third Gen Smiths come with a lifetime warranty, have a reputation for absolute reliability, and will serve you well for a lifetime..

Just options,

Best Wishes,

Jesse

P.S. Photos below show the 6906 w/standard 10rd fingertip mag, 6906 w/13rd.5906 mag, and the CS9.

No particular order:

M&P 9 (wife's gun and everyone that shoots digs it!)

Glock G19 (if it fits your hand..I love G19's, just not the Gen 2's finger grooves)

Sig P229 (CPO prices are around $500...hard to go wrong with a Sig)

Sig P6 (Own a piece of history with a SWEET shooting gun...very good condition will run you around $400..)

S&W M&P9. I love mine. Very reliable. Points great.

x2

And even better with Crimson Trace laser grip.

Edit: Sorry, reread and saw that you are lefty. M&Ps come with or without ambi safety but you have to remove the right side one for the laser grip.

Nice thing tho, M&Ps come with 3 different sized backstraps.

9mm ?

For the dollar amount you listed ,( $ 500 ) you could avail yourself of a nice Glock 26 with spare magazines (if you want a carry gun ) or a nice G19 .
Take your pick , but it's hard to beat the reliability and function of the Glock . DO YOU THINK I MAY BE A BIT BIASED ?

I love my CZ 75B. the thing points awesome, shoots straight (and on target), the ergenomics are simply astounding, and it's a pretty pistol that should cost in the $600-$700 dollar region but isn't. that makes it a WHOLE lot better.

BCCL- Several Excellent choices-!

My number One Choice is the Springfield XD-M. I own two of the 9mm and one .40 cal XD-M. NEVER a Hiccup of ANY TYPE! Accurate as Hell-Has Two 19rd mags. Trigger is Great! Awesome:evil:

My Second Choice is a Tie-The SW MP-9mm Great Gun-Again Never a Problem/Ever! Love mine! For the Money it is about Impossible to Beat the Taurus PT-92 Of your choice in Style. [I Love the Stainless] The Taurus is a Great Deal! The Taurus is Super Dependable-Super Accurate-Awesome Trigger-Never Dies!

The Best to You!

Yup, CZ-75
extra magazines from Ghost Products, the CZ shop in Mesa Az.

By the way, CZ magazines are interchangeable. I have shot the 20 round CZ mags from my CZ Rami. They stick out a bunch, but at the range, you don't need to re-load as often.

I see a lot of people recommended the CZ-75B and while I agree it is a great gun I believe for a left-handed shooter the CZ-85B is a better choice. Correct me if I am wrong but I am under the impression they are the exact same gun with an ambi safety but the 85 also has an ambi slide release.

So the CZ-85B has a ambi safety AND ambi slide release which would be important to me if I was left-handed. Buds has them for $548 which is a little over your original price but to me it would be worth the few extra bucks.

Of course all of this only matters if the gun fits you right!

Best of luck,

Shawn

I haven't seen anyone mention the Taurus PT92. It's in your price range and had the features you want. It's a nice piece of machinery. It is a large handgun and it's grip size puts it right at the limit that I can shoot comfortably. The Taurus 24/7 is another candidate. I bought one because it fits my hand perfectly. I've had the PT92 for over two years and the 24/7 for most of a year with not one problem with either.

Glock 19"C"or a regular 19. My 19c shot it's 9000th rd today.

How many failures? "o":D:evil:

Shawn,

You are absolutely correct. The 85B is the same as the 75B with ambi controls. The 85 Combat has an adjustable sight and does not have the firing pin block of the 75B or 85B.

After shooting your SP-01, I now want one or a 75SA or the Holy Grail, Tactical Sport. Oy vey. Thought I had all my CZ's covered.

In case anyone hasn't shot a CZ SP-01, it really, really balances well and shoots great.

SOG is offering Walther P99s for $399.99 with two magazines right now. And that, my friend, is one smoking deal on a terrific firearm.

I had the opportunity to handle a CZ 75B 'SA' yesterday.

My friend paid $385 locally, put on the $70 comp hammer and polished the trigger components.

Upswept beavertail, dual safeties--which make a good thumb rest, and a superior trigger make this the best bang for the buck I've seen.

My only issue is with CZs is the camming of the trigger. There are ways to fix it but out of the box every CZ75 I have ever handled displayed it.

Another vote for the Smith M&P, one of the best pointing/feeling weapons I have shot in a long time.
