Does anyone own one of these or shot it??...what is your opinion of it? Thumbhole stock? Accuracy?
Did you replace the Boss with a Boss-cr?

I've played with an A-Bolt in .243. Shot real nice, bolt cycled smoothly. I easily held minute of coyote with it, pretty good for a rifle I never shot or handled previously. I'm not a big fan of muzzlebrakes on most rifles myself; that .300 mag is gonna be plenty loud and harsh on it's own, while the BOSS will reduce the felt recoil, it won't help with the already significant muzzle blast and noise of the .300 Winmag.

Just kinda curious, what intentions do you have in mind for this thing?

Thanks for the reply and welcome Been a lurker here for a while.

Plan on using it for Moose and Elk up here in Canada. Don't plan on carrying it much...just using it as a sit and shoot rifle. Went to a local store and seen one there....it was very nice and fit me rather well.





Have the opportunity to trade my Sendero for it..and before I commited to the deal...just wanted to get some feedback. Although I'm quite sure the Eclipse is just fine for what I need it for Will probally replace the Boss with the Boss- Cr as I would like to save my hearing.

I'm 99% on getting an A-Bolt II Medallion in .375 H&H w/BOSS-CR & Open Sights.
Also been checking into a thumbhole stock for it in some nice wood.

You've chosen a very nice firearm there.

Just on THO - after previous stint on TFL.

Folks from there may recall I am a Browning A bolt nut.

I have a 30-06 A bolt 2 European with Boss - nothing would induce me to part with it. I think the Browning is beautifully designed and manufactured.

Boss does everything it says - OK the blast is enhanced and shooting without ear protection is something you will not get away with. But recoil is reduced - maker for better field shooting.

It can be a pain to set -up; my rifle settled nowhere near the settings suggested in the manual. But since then I have not had to touch it.

You have a very fine rifle - I wish you well and every enjoyment.

I have no ax to grind here, since, while I'm considering an A-Bolt II, I have no experience with them. I think I'd want to know more about thumb-hole stock. (Okay, I'm suspicious of new stuff.)

First, what's the effect of sholdering for a quick shot?

Second, what's the effect of recoil to me.

Hey, the answers don't have to be bad - the thumb-hole might improve things. It's something I'd want to know, though.

My Browning - European, has a er well 'European' style stock - ie semi pistol grip etc - so have to leave to Nester et al to describe.

Mine handles like a wand.

Recoil - Boss eliminates so much that may be hard pressed to fully analyse the element affected by the thumb-hole stock. Again over to Nester.

I won't be personally offended if you don't buy a Browning
