So I finally got a 32 H&R Single Six. I'd been looking locally for over a year with no luck, so gave up and went to GB.
I won a very nice 5.5 inch version.
When it showed up, it was actually a 4.62 inch barrel, which is what I really wanted to begin with, so it was great with me!
Almost no turn line on the cylinder and almost perfect finish. I was happy. Looks like a 1984 model by the SN.

A while back I bought a box full of new brass, bullets, and a die set for 32 H&R so I had that on hand but no time for the loading bench. I ended up finding some 32 S&W long wad cutter cartridges locally to give the new gun a whirl.
It was exactly what I hoped for!
Wad cutters are awesome for punching nice round holes in paper .

So my firsts for today?
First time with my new gun. (Love it)
32 caliber goodness. (Love it)
Use of wad cutters. (Won't be my last)

All in all, I'm all smiles:).
And the obligatory pic

Very cool, congratulations on finally scratching that .32 Single six itch.

My first .32 was also a Single Six, I picked up a 6.5” Bisley version a couple of years ago. I have put a bunch of rounds down range, from 100 gr DEWC target loads to 125 gr SWCGC over a max load of Unique that would make some nice trail loads for various varmints. The round is easy and economical to load for and very satisfying when you’re shooting. :)

My favorite Ruger SA barrel length is the 5.5”, but I only have one of that length. 3 are 4 5/8”, 4 are 6.5” (That’s my least favorite, go figure!) and one a 3.5” birdshead. When I tried my hand at SASS I used the 4 5/8” guns, they are quicker on the draw and really handy at those close-in plates and poppers.

Again, congrats on finding a great little gun!

Stay safe.

Nice revolver with a 4-5/8" barrel.

I'd like to fine another 32 H&R Mag revolver or two to go with my S&W Model 16-4. The 16-4 is the only 32 H&R Mag that I own at present.

I have a 5-1/2" Ruger Single Seven chambered in 327 Fed Mag which is a nice revolver.

Have fun with the Single Six.

I've always thought one them thar .32's would be a pretty ideal "general use" sidearm when hunting or hiking. Seems it would be a nice small game pistol with the ability to pack a punch on somewhat larger critters.

I have become most fond of the 6" barrel length, with 5.5" being a close second. (only a half inch away)

Congratulations. That’s a sweet find. I always have wanted to try one myself.

If you can get one, do it!
You won't regret it. I only have 100 rds of 32 S&W long through it so far. Same size as a 22 SS but enough recoil that you know it's a center fire. I can't wait to find some time at the loading bench to roll up some mags.
I found a couple more boxes of longs on Friday so I will shoot it again today. :)

Congratulations on your .32 Single Six revolver
I am glad things came together nicely for you. Finding .32 Wadcutter ammo? I am pretty sure that was destiny.

I have bought a whole bunch of 32swl at Rural King. They have also had 32 mag and 327 periodically. I would check there if you have one close.

Unfortunately I have never even seen a Rural King store. We have a Tractor Supply and/or a Family Farm and Home in every town around here but no RK. We are lucky though in that there are probably 20 small LGSs and ammo/reloading suppliers within 20 miles of my house. So I do feel lucky about that.

Great 'walking around' gun and cartridge. One of my dog walking favorites on our farm road. Missouri Bullet Co. can supply you with 98 gr LSWC's and Starline has the brass, Bullseye, Unique, Win 231, WST, WSF, Ac#2 or 5...all work well with lead alloy or jacketed. Hornady's 85 gr XTP is first rate in all three of my Rugers with only a minor elevation change when compared to the 98 gr LSWC's. With either it's easy to get 1150 fps from your 4-5/8" bbl.

I'd say the .32 H&R is tied with the .44 Special for being the easiest caliber to get outstanding accuracy. And the .32 comes with plenty of smack from an ~100 gr bullet at 1150 fps. It does a real job on skunks, possums in the feed bins, and raccoons under the porch. And with recoil that's about like a .22 WRM, with similar muzzle report, it's a good training cartridge for new shooters transitioning from .22 LR.

Get a decent holster and start totin' that beauty with you while woods stompin'...your going to love it. Here's a cple of mine...I also have a Birdshead 4-5/8", and a 5-1/2" SS as well...I really do like the caliber! Rod
