Son came in from out of town and asked if I had anything planned Saturday morning. He wanted to go to the local range and shoot some guns. Well who am I to refuse a request to spend some time with one of my Son's, especially doing something we both love...shooting our guns.
I had recently, after an exhaustive search, purchased a Ruger American Predator in .223 which I topped with a Burris Fullfield II 6.5-20x50mm scope, and was anxious to see how it shot. I had tried several times before but the winds here in Texas had been just below hurricane force. The gun exceeded my expectations to say the least. We both also brought our AR Pistols I built for each of us, and then shot some informal handgun competition on the dueling tree. We burned up some expensive ammunition but it was money well spent for therapy. We both left the range feeling a big sigh of relief from the previous weeks problems, both personal and work related. I really enjoy when I get to be with both Sons at the range, but the youngest Son had commitment's he could not get out of. I'll just have to schedule another day with him.;)

My Son and I try to shoot fairly often. Every time we do it's something different. Might be ARs one week, pistol carbines another, then wheel guns, semi autos, leverguns ... always something different.

His Pa can still smoke him on the bench with the bolties and he knows that ... I cut him no slack.

This coming weekend we're shooting suppressed 300 BLK pistols and maybe some suppressed 9mm.

I'm with you Mike, et al., time on the range with the kids when they're home is fun time. Especially when the wife comes out to show off with her wheel gun. The wife and the girls ... the son in laws, good times on the range.

Now it's grandkids too.

Papa is having to reload like a mad man to keep up with demand.
