So there it was, "hot off the press" in my email in box, "We've got ammo". A case of 5.56x45 XM193 for $325.00:) WOW I haven't seen those prices in a year, (your gettin ahead of me aren't you) out comes the credit card, add to cart , comfirm/send, Thank you for your purchase. OF 500 ROUNDS:banghead::fire: I didn't even need it that bad as I reload my own. I'm sure we all know the lesson here , if the deal sounds to good to be true, "all together now" chances are it is:(

I also remember bricks of .22 being 500, not 325 or whatever they're selling these days.
Marketing man.

Still not as bad as my cousin who bought 500 rounds of .22lr only to find that in his haste to grab it at a low price it was snake shot and his gun is a semi auto. :) I felt sorry for him and sold him some of mine and am giving him a few hundred rounds for his birthday.

However, his house is free of snakes.

Yeah, case sizes are shrinking along with the purchasing power of the dollar. .22 LR is a prime example today. It was so simple when they offered 500 round bricks and everyone knew what they had in their stash. Let's see, 27 bricks in the vault, 13 of them are 550 boxes, 7 are 325, and the rest...........well you get the point.

Usually, "If it sounds too good to be true,..." refers to con artists/scammers. Somehow, I doubt the seller is a scammer in this case. It's OP's fault for rushing and not reading carefully.

Just checked my stash. I have bulk boxes of 550 and 333 rds. The only "brick: I know is a carton of 10 boxes of 50. Kinda resembles a brick. This was bought way before the scare.

If you stay informed, a hasty decision does not have to be a bad or incorrect decision.

Definitely my fault, doesn't make it any easier except. I'll probably keep it as emergency stash. Who knows if I hang on to it long enough, it may turn out to be a bargin.

Sucks, man. Salespeople will do and say anything to make a sale, even if it means tricking the customer. If half of the people they swindle ask for their money back, they still get to keep the money from the quiet half.

Funny, somehow, if you don't do your homework or pay attention, it's the seller's fault?
At least the OP accepted his own mistake, instead of blaming someone else.
I've done plenty of dumb mistakes similar to the OP. Just suck it up.
Unless it's blatant fraud, learn and move on.

500rds for $325 is still not a bad deal right now. If you consider that shipping can be up to $25 in some online stores, you got your ammo for $.60/rd or so.

And its factory ammo so you are good to go. Plenty of reloads for the 193 in the future. Regret averted :)

To me a 'brick' is an outer box containing 10 individual boxes of 50 rounds. A 'carton' is however many rounds it says on the outside.

That's based on what I have on my shelves. It's been so long since I've seen 22 ammo in a store I don't know how it's being packaged now.

Everyone makes mistakes CMJER. No big deal. It happens.

You can try to resell it to someone for your cost. If someone needs some they will be glad to have it. It is not like you paid a buck a round.

My point exactly.... You Got Brass Now that you didn't have before!

In these days of trying to find a deal, we can make mistakes, but yours is not a terrible one at all. I have seen people drive 60-100 miles on weekends making rounds to cabbage up there limit of 2 or 3 boxes at each place....

I have traveled locally until I got to the point of just getting a couple boxes here and there... So I sat down on net and bought some and had it delivered to me....the heck with it! Now I can spend time reloading and time on the range instead of worrying over a few dollars.

If you buy 500 rounds that you don't need at double the price you would normally pay. Then YOU are the reason ammo costs more now.
