A Good Deal on a Saiga .308 Conversion

I think the big issue with the Saiga .308 is the availability of cheap mags. Even the 8 rounders cost $30, if you can find them. Hi-caps aren't available right now. The most valuable conversion, in my opinion, is one that would allow the Saiga to use cheap, standard .308 mags. The other modifications seem largely cosmetic to me. (I have the unmodified rifle. I bought it for $250 from CDNN in December.)

Due to the 1994 AWB you could not modify a high cap mag to work in another rifle, if the mods made it no longer function in the original magazine.

With the sunset,
how hard would it be to now make a FAL, HK or a M-14 mag
work in a .308 AK?

Don't forget that the Saigas are not being imported anymore. EAA sold their import permit to Remington and they aren't going to do the Saiga line just the other over and unders and such. I'm sure someone will pick up the Saiga line sometime. They will probably be slim pickin' for a while.
