Sulaco: I really like that target gray finish on your Ruger! Did that come standard from the factory or was it an after market finish? I have never seen that finish on a Ruger before. :)

Sorry to revive a dead thread, but I just got this one and thought I'd post it.

I love the look of my 4" half lug .22. For some reason, it makes me think of a Schofield.

It's nothing too fancy, but it certainly looks and feels, and even shoots like it's made to last many years. I love my SP101:D

An SP-101 in 9? how'd you pull that one grimjaw?

1) Watch "handguns for sale" forum like hawk.
2) Type very, very fast.

:p

Sisco- I saw that one ont he thread about bead-blasting too. Damn you did a nice job. I like the asthetic simplicity. It's nothing fancy. It's just solidly understated and beautiful, as a gun ought to be.

just purchased a 3" SP-101 in .32 H&R Magnum...6 shots and adjustable rear sight for windage...nib for $319 shipped...will post pics after it arrives next week!

Nice guns fellas. I have yet to purchase one of my own but have been shooting my brother in laws and have been very impressed with the guns performance. Have more substantial feel and look than any of the S&W snubbies I have handled.

Hey boneboy,

I'm looking for the exact same gun.

Where did you find it for $319 ? The dealers in my area are all trying to hose me bigtime. Please PM me with details if you would be so kind.

Thanks

i have to admit, while i am a S&W fan (old school wheelys), i find the sp101 an attractive and very usefull gun.

if leather gear was easier to find for it, it would probably have been my ankle BUG.

I'm sure I've posted these way too many times here and other places...but my 3" .357 with Badger grips. Gemini Customs did the matte finish, smoooooooooothed the trigger and despurred the hammer.

....I feel the same way. Although I have lots of older S&W's....the Ruger SP-101 is so versatile it's the revolver that often gets carried. I can fire heavy .357 loads without too much difficulty, or dial down to a .38 Special 158 Gr.+p LSWCHP (effective out of the 3" barrel model) or the Gold Dot 135 Gr. +p.....both are very easy shooting in the "weighty" SP-101.

I don't think you can beat the 3" model for woods walking in environs where you're not concerned about big brown bears.

Holy geez... that was some beautiful engraving on that snubby and that Spyderco knife!
