I plan to buy a new 9mm next year. I've narrowed it down to these three: Glock 17, Beretta 90-two and CZ 75 SP-01. I am familiar with all these pistols and they all feel great in my hand. My top priority is reliability and durability, the price is not a problem. What do you say guys?

Both weapons are reliable and durable, I prefer the CZ and have an SP-01.
If you want polymer the SP-01 does come in poly now, the Phantom......

I don't like Berettas. The trigger reach is too long and I don't like DA/SA.
I've got a Glock 22, which is functionally and dimensionally identical to a Glock 17. The Glock 17 would be a perfectly serviceable gun.
If you can handle the trigger reach/shape, the CZ should work too. The stock trigger (at least on the CZ75B) doesn't fit me. At least you can carry it cocked and locked if the DA doesn't work for you.

i wanted to like the cz sp-01 but i just couldn't get over the cheap finish and the LONG trigger pull so i ended up getting the g17. there's a reason it's the best selling hand gun.
i've had a 90-two .40 in the past and i did not like it one bit. the trigger was gritty the aluminum rail got bent the first time i put a light on it. not a good experience.

It could be that they have alot of advertising, or people prefer an DAO trigger and thats the cheapest one or that some people will just buy whatever the gun dealer recommends. I know a few people, myself included, who bought into the GLOCK advantage w/out checking the rest of the market out and later regretting it.

I WOULD REALLY LIKE A BRAND NEW HOBDELL CUSTOM SPO1 WITH THE CZ 85 TRIGGER with STOP ADJUSTMENTS, an extra set of the thin aluminum grips, 6 mags, competition holster and belt, and 5000 complimentary rds of 124 gr, fmj 1050fps cartridges. P.S. My B-Day is Saturday!

drink whatever kool-aid you want. the glock works better for me and the millions of other people that use them based on their own decision. by that i mean, all of the people who aren't issued them, but still choose to use them.

maybe i misread but in the previous sentance, you talked about the CZ's "cheap finish and long DA trigger pull". The next you said theres a reason why the G19 is the best selling handgun on the market. I assumed you were implying the Glock has a better finish and better trigger(both come down to preference)
im not picking a fight but sometimes nut huggers of any brand are too ignorant or stubborn to try something else. If you look at my firearm list, 10 of my 12 firearms i currently own are from different manufacturers. People might own 5 pistols from 1 manufacturer because it works for them or theyre too afraid to change or havent tried anything else. My buddy owns the 2 glocks i sold him that i used to own(a G23C and G19) and tried out my Beretta after i bought it. He likes it better but doesnt like shooting it because he doesnt have the money to buy one and has too much money tied up in his Glocks.
I have also know a good amount of people(work, school, family) who used to own glocks but switched to XD's. The main reason was they shoot better with it. Just sayin.

i know what you mean about the nut huggers, trust me. ALL of my guns are made by different companies. i like CZ, i almost got the SP-01. if i had $200 to np3 the gun at the time of purchase i totally would have done it. the trigger is awesome in single action mode and 19 rounds of 9mm is cool, if nothing else.

i have owned and shot a LOT of guns..CZ's, SIGS, 1911 and more recently HK and Glock...i waffle back and forth and it depends on what i am doing with them..at the range..static and controlled i like my 1911 or HK...but on my hip and the gun that i am gonna FIGHT with is a G19. It may not be the prettiest, may not "fit" as well as one or the other..but i trust it as a fighting tool.

I would also give a Serious Hard Look at the New Springfield XD M 9mm. That is going to be my next 9mm. With its ergonomics improved over the Regular XD, the Match Grade Barrel, and 19 Round Mags
