What is the pin sticking out of the primer pocket on the cases? I've never seen that.
With Berdan primers, the anvil is in the case. That is why Berdan primed cases have two flash holes, since the built-in anvil has to be centered. The close-up shot of the primers show there were no anvils in the primer, only the primer compound.

All of us that use a powder measure are using volumetric measuring. Our scales are used merely to verify that our volume matches tour desired weight. Scoop or drop, it's all the same, just variables in precision. If you're well practiced with your scoop then your consistency will probably be pretty good. that ol' boy has had lots of practice.

I don't know why some folks are so wound up about the fellow charging the cases with a powder scoop. It's an accepted method of measuring powder.

When I started reloading back in the 80s, all I had was the scoop(s) that came in the Lee die set(s). I loaded for several years with that method, encountering no problems.

It wasn't until more than a decade later that I had a powder trickler. I bought out a guy quitting, and found the trickler in the lot. I hadn't even seen one prior to that.
