Hi-res

I'd like to see a similar image but with a bolt gun.. (either wood or synthetic furniture)

actually, it'd be neat to see a motif of the above image, with an image of a military sniper with an M24 or M40 sniper rifle.

The image doesn't mesh with the message. While many here would agree the AR platform is plenty useful for hunting, many hunters wouldn't agree. they'd take a look at that and say "that ain't my thuddy thuddy."

It'd be much better with a bolt action instead, such as a Remington 700. This is a firearm that has a long history of being used both for hunting and as a sniper rifle in the military.

I am a member of several non firearms related forums which have a lot of gun owners/hunters that are very Zumbo like, there are constant arguments about why we need standard cap mags....etc.

Anyhow, I would like some hunter/ sniper photos to show that we are all under attack and the anti gun establishment is after all guns..........

Oleg, great pic.

If you are doing a whole series, how about a photo of sniper/tactical shooter faded and superimposed over an image of a traditional looking hunter with a similar gun.

Either way, keep up the great work.

Nice work, as always, Oleg. I do agree with the above posters however, but if you plan to make a whole series on them, the more the merrier. Love your work Oleg.

sweet poster Oleg,

I had a thought for an image with the same tag line.

photo on one side is military/police sniper with his rifle trained on a suspect
photo in the other side is a hunter with the exact same rifle trained on some game.

gives the clear impression that the same gun is used for different purposes and a ban on one is a ban on all.

The shooter looks a little to tacticool for the public to identify with it. In my opinion the guy should be wearing the clothing of a rifle hunter, meaning some blaze orange as this is often required when hunting with a rifle.

I agree something showing that the only difference between a hunting rifle, and a sniper rifle is the target would be good, as the antis are likely to be going after "sniper" rifles after they get (or attempt to) rid of the "assault weapons." The Fudds need to clue themselves in.

That is a good idea. I realize Oleg said he was making more but for it to relate to hunters in WI some blaze is needed.

This kind of reminds me of the Armalite ads a few years ago. You know, the one with the hunter and the full camo AR-10.

I agree with the others that you should have a bolt, lever or single shot rifle or even a shot gun with a scope on it. Nothing with a synthetic stock.

You could get the same effect aiming at upland bird hunters. In my experience they tend to be the worst of the Fudds.

How about something like this? (Pardon my crude illustration... I don't have Oleg's talent).

The same model depicted as two seperate guys hunting from a duck blind... one's done up head to toe in fancy hunting gear, with an engraved O/U shotgun. The other is in black tactical gear, with an eeevil EBR. Both look the same to politicians.

FWIW, I've never hunted ducks, so if my illustration isn't an accurate depiction of how its done, I apologise.

The ten-rounder is too high-capacity and the AR too objectionable. I would recommend one of the pistol-grip turkey shotguns with the AR-style adjustable stock instead.

In Georgia, hunter safety orange is legally required.

While a good many hunters in my area wear Mossy Oak or Realtree or some such camo, not all of us do. I don't bother with camo... I dress in my usual cowboy style, add my hunter safety orange goose down vest, and carry my old Winchester .30-30. I'm not exactly alone in this when you look across the country. We don't all dress as if we were filming for the Outdoor Channel. Hey, if I'm not carrying my old .30-30 levergun, I'm probably carrying a .30-06 or .303Brit. and either will be an obsolete crankbolt. I'm not alone in this either. Not everybody can spring for the latestgreatestfastestwhizbangtacticoolwhatever rifle/optics. Not even every hunter uses a scope; I don't.

I recall after Zumbo's anti-AR-15 deal, Outdoor Life ran that headline about AR-15's "Coming to a Deer Stand Near You". My next deal, and I'm not alone here either, is it may be coming to a deer stand near me, but it won't be in my stand. It's simply not my kind of rifle.

This does not and will not diminish the fact that the anti's want to ban all guns and not just certain guns.
