ive been practicing slicing the headstamps off old cartridges. no problem. having a lathe makes this stuff easy.
ive got two wax rings ordered from the casters so i can shape them and make sure they are perfect before having them cast.
as far as costs, i cant guess yet but i hope to be able to make the rings well under 100 bucks each.
ive found bezels i believe will fit for pendants in the size for 30-06,308,762x39, 357mag, 38spl. the good news about the pendants is that if the pre-fab setting works out the costs will be quite reasonable.
unfortunately no standard bezel seems to exist pre fab for 223 or 30 carbine.
strings, feel free to pm me about ideas.
