A tale of two gun purchases.

I actually pay $30-75 more at the store I go to because they offer 100% satisfaction guarantee ("No sale final until you're satisfied") and great service. Everyone who works there is a shooting enthusiast and they all know their stuff (some work it as a second job just for fun). If you're in Virginia, take a look!

I've have had very few positive experiences with gun store sales reps. As a result, I don't patronize gun stores anymore.

I suggest that people check out their local kitchen table FFLs.

You potentially sacrifice the ability to browse through a large stock of firearms, but if you know what you want before you go shopping, you can frequently get it without a huge markup--particularly if you meet a FFL that sells guns simply as a nod to the BATF in order to keep his or her license.

Provided the FFL has his head screwed on straight, you'll never shop at a brick-and-mortar store again.
