I have been looking for one of these for quite some time - A 4 Aces Manufacturing derringer. Some other companies have made similar guns. I collect pocket pistols and this is one type I have been searching for. Should be receiving it shortly from the seller.

Erl Svendsen made a very similar gun as did HJS. I believe Uberti also made a repro sharps derringer. I know the new Iver Johnson iteration is planning on making one as well.

Anybody else have one?

I have a NIB stainless one made by HJS in Brownsville Texas. It has black plastic birds head grips.

Nope, never saw anything like it before...

Two Navy Arms/Ubertis, one Erl Svendsen.

Got a buddy with a Miroku. He won't consider selling it. Period. I've tried to talk him out of it enough times to know.

Passed up one or two chances at the HJS ones back when they were still being made because I just didn't see how I was going to juggle finances enough to buy 'em at the time. :banghead:

I was in Florida about 8 years ago on business and saw a gun show - so I went. A guy had a table full of the HJS guns. 90 bucks each. But I was out of state. Sigh. I wasn't going to spend the bucks for the transfer so that was that.

I wonder when the Iver Johnson one is going to come out. When I last looked at their web site - my security software lighted up that it was an evil site.

twin barrels, one trigger, one hammer? Machine gun?

Actually that's 4 barrels, one trigger, one hammer with a single rotating firing pin. These are all based off the old Sharps derringers, a design originating back in the mid-1800s as an alternative to small revolvers and pepperboxes. Each time the hammer's cocked, a rachet-type arrangement turns the firing pin setup on the hammer face 1/4 turn to line up with the next barrel's chamber. Resulting in one shot per hammer cocking/trigger pull cycle and not being even remotely close to violating the MG regs...

4 Aces Derringer

A customer brought me one of these to repair, the piece that pushes on the ratchet when cocking is missing. Does anyone have one of these little pepperboxes they would sell or let me borrow, or perhaps be willing to take theirs apart and photograph the part (with measurement) and send me the photo. That would make my life much easier.

Thanks very much!

I always wanted one of those 4 barrelled Sharps, ever since I watched Yancey Derringer on TV as a kid. They're not accurate at any distance farther than across a card table, but they still look neat. :)

Neat guns...

I have always been a fan of the little derringers and pocket pistols. There have been some nice copies made in the last 30 or so years. Unfortunately there have been some not so good. I worked a homicide/suicide in 1977 where an unfortunate victim of his own poor choices had a 4 barrel in .22LR with which he intended to kill another poor choicer. He apparently cocked and pulled the trigger which caused all four barrels to fire at once which then drove the rotating firing pin out the back of the frame. It hit him in his right eye and went into his brain killing him DRT.

Loved Yancy Derringer and he had that Indian side kick , that never said a word, with a sawed off shot gun under his pancho. If I remember he would flat ass use it too.

Yeah, "Pahoo-Ka-Te-Wah", "The Wolf Who Stands In Water", with a sawed off shotgun under his blanket, and a throwing knife down the back of his neck.
I liked Yancey's Sharps derringer clipped to the crown of his straw hat. :)

Yancy was once disarmed in an episode and had one Sharps in each sleeve, one in a vest pocket on each side and one in his hat. Plus a sword cane.

The actor was Sally Field's step dad and also played Tarzan - Jock Mahoney.

I have a very nice Itasca "4 Aces", appeares to be in better condition than any I have seen recent pictures of. It comes with the original box as well. It belonged to my mother-in-law when she was a casino cashier in Vegas, she carried it in her purse for many years. I would consider selling it for a fair and resonable offer? If you are interested, I could send email pictures. It really is a very nice example of these little derringers.
