.357 - bought it new in 1968 - paid $80 for the gun and the Alamo Leather rig together. Gun has not been converted.

Used to wear it (with no bullets) to the high school for Western Day every year. Some of the students wore theirs too. Different times.
The principal, a WWII Marine veteran - liked it, and wound up buying one for himself.

That's incredible.

If I went to school dressed with a Colt's SAA, I'd probably get shot down in seconds by the security guard.

Old geezer, old gun.

1916 vintage S&W that shoots rounds made in .45 Winchester Magnum Brass to old .45 Colt specs. With that brass, I can utilize moon clips, and reload is two half moon clips in the watch pocket of my Levi's.

Iggy,

Your revolver is an older version of what I carry. Care to elaborate on the load?

Kevin

The closest I get to a combat rig is a Milt Sparks Versa Max 2 and two Safariland speed loader holders. I do plan upon swapping out the Hogue grips, which are very difficult to conceal, with either some Badger or Eagle grips.

Safariland does make a retention holster for the Ruger GP100. I am thinking of getting one since I like the gun quite a bit.

I agree, the hogue grips are too bulky to adequately conceal, at first I thought i just might buy some boot grips for the model 629 but now im thinking of getting some grips from altamont and getting those tyler-t grips like iggys' beaut there.

Got the email from Ray at Lobo , he said its in the email as of the 31st of March, he qouted me 8 weeks and i ordered on the 4th , thats not bad at all as far as speed goes , Ill give a review on it after about a month of carrying it. Still looking on ways to carry the speedloaders effectively, you guys know of any big box store selling the bianchi speed strips in house instead of ordering online?

So, for you guys that actually conceal a revolver, do you carry with the cylinder above or below the belt? I know that a combat rig and a ccw rig may be different for you but my 3" gp100 could use some skin.

It's sure not a combat rig by any stretch of the imagination, but it works my warm weather EDC. S&W 2" model 64.

SICK!!

I would LOVE to find a snub nose K-frame six shooter .38 for IWB CCW, at least during the colder months. Looks like an awesome setup! :D

Do so fast , as they are rising in price very quickly. I spent 650 on a model 19 2.5 inch barrel and now that same model is selling at least here, north of 750.

This is my version of a "Wheelgunner's Combat Rig" for my Model 686. Actually it's pretty comfortable to wear once I got the straps configured the right way.

...Any ankle holster info would be greatly appreciated. Will be using bianchi speedstrips for that reload.
All thats left is the knife, I have chosen a Puma sgb Blacktail to fill that role.

Uncle Mike's nylon always worked best for me, I worked on foot and 12 hour shifts. YMMV due to the highly individualized nature of handgun use, but for the price I would strongly encourage an Uncle Mike's nylon rig. I carried my Charter Undercover and numerous other back ups, a .32 Colt, a .40 Glock, a Detective Special... Uncle Mike's worked out best every time even over a DeSantis once. But remember I was putting in some miles...

I no longer work or CCW and the house is about the most dangerous place I go. I like my Bianchi 111 crossdraw and here is my "Zombie" rig... fibelt_zpsh0etohkv.jpg
