So I'm getting ready to buy a used, but good condition ACOG from someone that had it on a fixed carry handle...What mount do I need to put it on a picatinny rail?

A link would be nice...And the cheaper the better.:)

Thanks.

I'd be surprised if LaRue doesn't have the appropriate mount, and you can't do better than them in mounting options.

Pay the money for the LaRue. I know it's not cheap, but it really is worth it. Easier to use, tight (accurate), holds it's value, and easy to remove.

You can do it cheaper, but you won't do it better. Plus, they are a great company to deal with!

I guess what confused me was the two holes through the mount...The ACOG only has one screw coming from the bottom of it.

I can definately find one of those on ebay for a 1/2 of the price.

I have a TA-31 model, and there are 2 holes in the bottom of the rail. Looking more closely at the link you originally posted, it looks like that one (TA01) only has a single hole. But, I suppose you could use the same mount and just put one screw in. I can't see it being any less secure than if it was mounted on a carry handle.

GG&G, ARMS, and Trijicon all have picitiny mounts.
Agree the LaRue is sweet. But the others do work.

This is a triji and its a single hole

Another nice thing about the Larue ACOG mounts is that they include two new screws of the proper length for mounting (the carry handle screw that comes with the ACOG is 1/8" longer; but it will work fine in a flattop mount) as well as loctite and everything else you need.

Like Zak Smith said, the TA51 is a good mount; but the Larue is tops. You not only get a nice solid mount; but almost perfect return to zero as well as quick-detach.
