Adjustable rear sight only or a new set?

I have a Glock 17 and had Speed Sights installed on it over a year ago. The good news -- I love the large, orange, tritium, front sight. It is very quick to get on target. The bad news -- I can't hit the broad side of a barn. I've fiddled with the rear sight and, in the past two months, have had several other people shoot it. We are all shooting low. At first, I was convinced it was me knowing full well the pie chart of mistakes that's out there. Now, with others off target too, I'm throwing in the towel.

If I could wave a magic wand, I would keep the SpeedSight front sight and just replace the rear one. It would obviously have to be an adjustable sight because it won't be engineered to match up with the front.

Should I consider this option or just buy a new set of fixed sights? What adjustable rear sight might work? If a new set, what would you suggest?

Dont see why you couldnt. Not a single one of my glocks have "matched" sights. I run Heinie Ledge Rears with Dawson F/O Fronts.

You will need to get an exact measurement of your front sight. Dawsons Precision can help you after you have that info, if you give them a call.

Unfortunately their web page that you need is under construction.

The top of the front SpeedSight diamond is .218" from the slide. That means it is too short for an adjustable Dawson which pairs up with a front sight that is .285"-.300".

Back to the drawing board for me.
