Assuming the Rem. 700 SPS is just a new version of the ADL what did they change? If anyone has handled or shot both rifles which did you prefer? And lastly can you still find ADL's since their not on the Rem. website?

The SPS has replaced the ADL and I doubt you will find many ADL's in stock anywhere. I know a place that as two ADL's left in 30-06.

The SPS did away with the rifle sights and added a trap door magazine. It also has a metal (probably some sort of aluminum) trigger gaurd assembly and a new stock design. Everything else is the same.

I have looked hard at all of the new Remingtons and there is very little difference in any of them. The CDL is replacing the BDL (even though the BDL is still made for now) and there are big differences in those two but the differences in the SPS and the CDL are minimal. The wood stock (walnut) and jeweled bolt are the only differences I am aware of.

Oh I forgot the new R3 recoil pad is now standard on all 700's.
