I was just wondering, with the introduction of the Cz-p01 and Sp-01 a while back, do they really have advancements over the old style CZ-75's and compacts? I was thinking of getting my first CZ and I really like the elegance of the 75B's but was wondering if CZ USA just had to come out with something new for marketing purposes or are the new guns really an upgrade?
Thanks.

And I searched for this already as I'm sure it's been discussed before but I'm not real good or patient using these searches.

Ergos, a rail and bigger mags.

The grip ergos changed slightly from the -75 to the -01 guns. Some people like the change, some people dont'

Also, the SP-01 comes with 18 round mags but can still take the standasrd 16 rounders.

Try to get your hands on both a -01 and -75 to see which grip geometry you like best... or get one of both. :)

All three CZs are EXCELLENT, very accurate shoots... but the 'feel' for each is very different.
Alot depends on what you're buying the gun for. For CCW/HP my favorite of the three, hands-down is the P-01. It fits my hand like a glove and has the best 'ergos' I've felt in a pistol... with ACCURACY and reliability tops!
For target, the 75B and SP-01 can't be beat. The SP-01 is definitely the heavier and largest of the lot. It definitely has the 'big-gun' feel. The 75B is the 'sleeker' of the two and really is a joy to shoot (like butter).
The best thing YOU can do is try to hold and shoot each before buying. They are all very different guns.
My solution... was to get all three!
Again, all EXCELLENT PISTOLS... start building your collection!!

Yes

If for some reason you run out of bullets, you can use the SP-01 to throw at the BG and create a sink hole. Thing freaking heavy:what:

I recerntly purchased a new CZ SP-01 (all steel) to add to my other CZ pistols - 83, P-01, 85C, and 75BD. Two things stand out immediately. First, the SP-01 is absolutely scary accurate and, second, it is a much heavier (about 41 ounces) than any of my other CZ's. Because it is a 9mm and is a heavier pistol it has extremely light recoil. To me that means that it doesn't move very far off target when shot and the return to target is minimal.

SP 01 additionaly has,
*Beavertail tang,
*Front and back grip serrations,
*Front cocking serrations,
*Full lenght slide to frame touch with full lenght slide rails,
*Full lenght recoil spring guide rod,
*Picatiny rails on the dust cover.

Regards.
