Okay so I have this Mossberg 590 12 gauge, which I like, mostly. One of the reasons I purchased it was it was in pretty much the configuration I wanted--ghost ring sights, 20 inch IC barrel with bayonet lug, and the 8 shot tube. I like the idea of being able to use slugs. The problem is Mossberg's manual couldn't possibly be more vague or useless in its directions for the adjustment of these sights. They tell you which screw adjusts elevation and windage, but not which direction moves the sights where or by how much. It has been constantly frustrating for me to try get these sights dialed in because I end up just guessing, and it gets tiring fast when you're dealing with 1 oz slugs, even in the 2 3/4 inch versions. So I was wondering if someone had some suggestions for an aftermarket replacement ghost ring sight for a Mossberg 590, preferrebly not requiring a gunsmith to install. A unit with more useful directions, possibly marked on the sight itself like every other friggin sight I've ever had to adjust, would be nice. It doesn't have to have tritium or anything like that, as long as it doesn't keep me guessing as to what adjustments I need to make so I don't have to spend another afternoon putting a dozen or so 3/4 inch holes in the general direction of my target, it'll do.
