Aimpoint red dot for AR?

Midway is having another sale on these 9000 series...looks like a good deal. Anyone have experience with this model Aimpoint?

I want a less expensive Aimpoint Red Dot for my AR-15...

Just stay away from the 2x models. I got the 7000SC-2X which was model that the 9000 series replaced. The red dot was great with aimpoint quality but the 2X field of view was terrible. It was seriously like looking through a toilet paper role.

It's once again a personal preference thing - I really like my 2X Aimpoint 7000SC. As you aim with both eyes open, the field of view is not a problem - well, not for me anyway.

If the FOV was the same and the magnification was in the front so you didn't get the toilet paper roll effect I would have stuck with it. Looking through the tube just blocked out too much of my sight picture. If it doesn't bother you more power to you.
