Anyone ever use the Kobra Red Dot sight that mounts on the AR? I'm trying to decide on my options for a sight for my AR, but want something that lets me keep both eyes open. The Aimpoints allow for both eyes open don't they?

Aimpoints allow for both eyes open.

I don't think you will be able to co-witness with a KOBRA.

I have a KOBRA mounted on a picatinny rail on our HK USC. The sight works wonderfully. Good sight for the money. Very tought although you are not getting AIMPOINT quality and certainly not AIMPOINT batterly life.

You may want to look into the PK-AS as another inexpensive alternative. They have a black dot system for daylight shooting so you only use batteries as needed.

The Kobra is a great sight and I now wish I hadn't sold the one I had but it does not cowitness the AR15/M16 iron sights. It just sits a little too high.

I was so dumb!

It means that you can see and use the iron sights while looking through the optics glass. It is meant to be an instant backup in case the electronic tactical doodad goes TU at an inoportune moment.
