Yeah, no kidding. You got that WASR picnic-table wood looking better than my Lancaster Russian red. Gotta be more than just tung oil !!!

Sand with fine grit sand paper.
4 coats GUNSTOCK stain from home depot $5
5 coast clear varnish $4

3 hours of time and a 12 pack

Recently converted Saiga.

Arsenal SAM 7S and a stock Saiga. Both in 7.62 with Kobra red dots. I enjoy shooting the Saiga more than the Arsenal and the Saiga groups are smaller at 100 yards.
 
I love the reliability and smoothness of a good AKM. I love that milled SA-M5 up there, Dave M. That is an incredible looking rifle.

Thanks. It's a great shooter, very smooth. Funnily enough, I was this >< close to buying a Colt 6520 when I spotted it on the shelf at my gun monger. The Colt went back on the rack and the Arsenal came home with me.
