Ak-47 vs SKS which is better?

hey benezra your prolly the best darn shot with a ak i know if you can hit at 200 yards but id bet the ak and sks would be more accurate with peep sights but yes i have to addmit the ak is more reliable and is better for cqb..... heres a pic of me sksView attachment 33973

They both have ups and downs. I'm on an SKS kick right now, but I like AK clones as well. Some considerations:

AK-47 Clone
--Easier to customize
--Easier to break down and clean
--More capacity

SKS
--The actual article, not a clone
--Generally a notch more accurate
--More collectible
--Still fairly easy to break down and clean
--Can have capacity increased, but not too easily
--Can use speed loaders directly

i have two SKS carbines right now. one is in good condition and combat accurate, and it's wearing it's original furniture. the other was unissued, and is set up for hunting and target shooting. both are yugo m59/66 modes.

i don't own an AK currently, while i have nothing against them, i don't desperately desire one. my next semi-auto defensive rifle will likely be a FAL.

I have a SKS but never shot an AK or an AR. So my opinion is limited. All I can really say for fact is my SKS is really fun, and inexpensive, to shoot. It's also pretty darn accurate! At about 150yds both my dad and I were hitting a 4x4 piece of wood 8/10 times.

The other thing that made me happy is my dad has been anti-commie guns for a while. Nothing major, he just said he'd never buy one. Now that he's shot my SKS he's thinking about getting one as it's super fun/cheap to shoot.
