Well AR and 1911... I never have developed a taste for Glocks--Nothing wrong with them but I like the old slabsides.

AR because of all the fun you can have with different uppers and I just like the platform in general. I like AK's as well but I just can't compare the two. If dropped in the jungle with no spare parts or cleaning supplies --my choice would be the AK though.

i picked 1911 and ar, and i own both and love them both.

but to be honest, if i could only have 1 rifle and one pistol out of my safe, it would be my garand and my 1911.

but i can honestly say it would be a TOUGH DECISION leaving the ar behind, cuz i sure do love it.

but out of those,

ar and 1911, hands down, no contest for me.

I Love my PT1911 and my Norinco.I am trying to build an AR (no uppers to be found) but know if I ever did own a Glock it would have to be in 10mm.

Defense or offense?

So this is how the liberal media runs their push polls to funnel results.

Umm... how about an FAL and suppressed M9? Or was this about defensive tools? Then again Claymore's aren't exactly high road. How about a flame thrower? No law against keeping and bearing a tunnel clearing implement.

No UhKlem... This is about your favorite pair of firearms and i apologize to the shotgunners beforehand for not including them.. and i'm very sorry for not including the Garand.. i'm not talking about defensive or offensive i'm talking about if (you're not in the military or other public service).. if you're not using it to defend yourself or others and just taking pride in owning and shooting any of those platforms... which one would you choose?? better?

SHTF = AK + Glock
Target shooting = AR + 1911

I respectfully disagree. In those situations I'd especially insist on an AR and a 1911 as my side arm. Both have been proven over and over again in combat situations.

I am fairly certain AK's have proven themselves in combat too.

That makes the call clear.

Glock and AK, kinda like being caught with a fat girl. Sure they are fun, but don't go hang with your friends or brag about it while you do it.

Now - AR-15 and 1911A1, as American as Apple pie and Mustang Sally!

Fact, I do not own and AR or an AK, just never saw the point. Now the 1911s, got a stable full of them!

AR-15/M-16 & Glock

M1A/M14 & 1911

I say keep plastic with plastic and steel with steel.

Also smaller NATO round and larger NATO round.

Would you rather have a .223/5.56 or .308/7.62? Would you rather have a 9mm or .45?

AR and Glock.

I used to enjoy AKs, until my vision has required optics more and more to see what I'm shooting. At least the more frequent maintenance an AR requires is easy enough to do. It's also a more modular system.

As far as the handgun, Glocks are reliable and durable platforms, and some models are easily converted to as many as three other calibers (.40S&W models can swap out 9mm & .357 SIG barrels, .22LR kits). They fit me and they work. Tradition is for the holidays and home, not handguns. Flame away. ;)
