Here is mine, it's an SAR 1 I put together. Most of the stuff came from http://www.tacticalgears.com/Scripts/default.asp The sight is a Bushnell holosight mounted on an Ultimak rail. The buttstock came from Tapco and I used Acraglass to attach the risor. I threaded the barrel with a threading kit (very easy to do) and attached the AK style brake. The laser is a 12mw daytime green laser.
The traditionalist don't seem to care for it too much. I wasn't going for history I was working on making the the most functional AK I could and I think I was very successful.
Below: Notice the big 60 round quad-stack magazine - I've never seen one outside of Russia and Romania (although I know the Bulgarians and Poles also use them). For some reason they are not being imported and no one in the US has decided to manufactuer any.
Here's a nice one with strippers of both 7.62x39 and 5.45x39.5
Here are some Galil pattern rifles. The Galil design is a second or third (depending on the model) generation AK design. The design philosophy is very much like that of the Kalashnikov.
This Micro Galil is actually chambered in .30 Carbine and was designed by the Israeli's for CQB, urban defense, and for use against rioters. It has mainly been used by riot police/military and has been pretty successful in that role; it has not been especially popular when used by certain military units that neededdefinate stopping power.
Galil chambered in 7.62x51
Notice the mag release
Here's a practice rifle grenade
And here's the real thing...
Here's the ever-beloved Sig 55x series, which is a 3rd generation Kalashnikov.
