Ok so if I et a SGL 21 can I change the stocks and foregrips and flash suppressers on it? Like how a build my AR-15s? What are my restrictions?

As long as you have at least 5 U.S made products on the weapon you are ok. For all your ak 47 modifications visit the list of sites below.

The threading on the arsenal sgl-21 is a 24x1.5 twist as opposed to the more common 14x1. Search k-var for appropriate flash hiders/compensator. Hands down the best compensator is the bulgarian type 74 style. The arsenal comes with the type 74 style however it is a fake. It does not have the chamber inside.

922r Compliance: It's NOT how many USA-made parts are on or even in the gun. It's all about REPLACING enough foreign parts with USA parts so you can add evil doo-hickeys, such as a pistol grip, and use higher capacity magazines... assuming your state/local laws even allow them. There's TONS of info regarding 922r on the Saiga-12 forum. :)

I had to read that twice just to make sure it wasn't me not making sense.

Replacing = gun + 5 U.S.A

^^^ Sorry if my post was unclear. :)

OP... Research 922r before you add a pistol grip or use a high capacity magazine to/with a Saiga. You don't have to do the complete conversion but you do need to REDUCE the foreign-made parts count by replacing them with USA-made parts. After that you can add whatever USA-made doo-hickeys you like.

The Saiga is the "sporting rifle" version of the AK. It's friendlier with the misguided states. Both have strong aftermarket support and I believe that the Saiga does edge out in accuracy. However, I don't think you can use your AK magazines in it.

A saiga in it's original form will not accept standard ak rounds. With a conversion kit it will happily accept ak mags. However, a pre-converted saiga like my arsenal sgl21 accepts ak magazines just fine....

Ok so I'm going to buy the Arsenal SGL-21 with the side folding stock but no one here in Medford Oregon has any so I have to get it shipped to some one with a FFL.... How do I go about doing this?

Find an online dealer who has them (try Atlantic, they're a member here) and have your local FFL send his info to them. They send him the gun and he transfers it to you.

Ok so what is the SGL-21 model with the side folding stock?
Damifino... you said you were going to buy one, so I figured YOU knew what it was. :scrutiny:

Here's Arsenal's page on that gun, so you know what you're buying: http://www.arsenalinc.com/usa/home.php?cat=8

EDIT: Ok, I think I misunderstood your question... SGL-21 isn't the specific model number? Weird. See below, I think I found it for you...

The easiest thing to do is look at Arsenal's own website: Arsenalinc.com

The most common models you see are the SGL series, which are the Saiga conversions. The numbers after the SGL, such as SGL21 or SGL31 denote the caliber. 21 denotes 7.62x39 and 31 denotes 5.45x39. The numbers that come after the dash in the model number (SGL21-61) denote the stock set used. There are Warsaw length and Nato length buttstocks, as well as different colors such as black, plum, O.D. green, and desert tan.

The other models they offer are the SLR series, which use Bulgarian made stamped receivers and the SA series, which as far as I know all use U.S made milled receivers (and cost a good bit more).

I believe you are looking for a SGL21-94, which is the standard Saiga conversion in 7.62x39 with the side folding stock.

Ye it's the SGL-21 94 I asked my buddy who has his FFL and he seems to think these are hard to get.

Ahhhh, I see the difference. Well, I'll put in one more plug that you could at least try Atlantic. They sell a bunch of AKs, and lots of Arsenal stuff. If anyone can get one, I'll bet they can. Sure can't hurt to ask.
