I am having a problem with the trigger on my wasr10. After just a few shots the trigger pins slips out of the side. I have to keep putting it back in. Can someone tell me how to fix the problem?
Make sure your shepherd's hook is properly engaging the recesses in the pins. If it is or if it just won't do the job take a look at getting one of the shepherd's hook replacements that is cut from sheet metal. WASR's are kind of like the lottery and you may or may not have a losing ticket but that's the first thing I'd check.
Go to your local hardware store and pick up some e-clips like these. The size escapes me, but a google search will turn it up. Or, just buy a few different sizes, they're only about 25 cents each.
I spent 45 minutes trying to get my shepherd's hook to work. I failed.
I respectfully disagree with e-clips. They are major pains in the posterior (as well as your knuckles).
Hitch pins are much easier to install/remove. You do not have to get a "specific" size, as they'll bend to fit if the pins you find run a little small.
3/16" is the size for E-clips. As far as removal goes I was lucky and the trigger clip popped out with a little right angle tool I made from a bobby pin. The hammer clip was more stubborn but I finally got it out by threading a number 30 wire between the hammer pin and E-clip and pulling up on both sides of the wire. You will have to strip the insulation off the wire. Electrical Engineers and techs will know this wire as wire wrap.
