The American Economy and dollar have been going down the tubes so fast lately that choosing a shopping mall might be a bad idea.
Nobody can afford to shop for christmas gifts this year.
Better targets might be the unemployment lines and soup kitchens,,,,,,,

I didn't read through all the responses, so someone has probably pointed out that Los Angeles and Chicago just happen to be the second and third largest cities in the U.S.. (New York, which is no. 1 has already been hit.)

Remote control in pocket, big bomb in closed shopping bag, walking around the day after thanksgiving. You won't see it be detonated it, nothing will look out of place until it goes boom. A gun does not give you some magical seeing ability to tell who is going to blow the building up.

I do. Funny thing is, though, is the line is usually full of people with brand new F250's, Escalades and Mercedes......

Only if you count Illinois. And if Onmilo thinks this is a bad economy, he must not have been an adult in the 2000-2003 time frame. And definitely wasn't an adult in the late Seventies. The Jimmy Carter era was the nadir of American civilization.

Agree with Jeff White. They don't seem to be afraid of such gun-rich environments such as Iraq. I think they'd be targeting large population centers for the obvious reasons: high population density, greater "terror" impact.

I believe Gabe Suarez used to teach a class on how individual CCW folks could effectively fight a group of terrorists with fully automatic weapons. The example gun, as I recall, was a 6 shot revolver for the CCW person. The ad for the class really sounded too good to be true.

I remmeber reading an article about this about 10 years or so. The idea was that terrorists would try to push people into 'defending' themselves against innocents and the backlash would shatter the community. The ways they would supposedly do this were kind of flakey, things like spreading rumours that terrorists were posing as mexicans in the hope someone would shoot a dodgy-looking hispanic.

It's an old idea from the Red Brigades, apparently to prove how Capitalism is so brutal blah blah blah.
