I've loaded a few .223 with this. I hand weighed each load so can't comment on how it meters, and haven't been to the rifle range in a while so can't comment on how it shoots.
I used this data:
http://www.alliantpowder.com/reloaders/powderlist.aspx?type=1&powderid=30&cartridge=46
The link notes the following max for a 52-gr HPBT:
.223 Remington: Sierra 52 gr HPBT, OAL 2.25", Fed 205M primers, 25.8 grains of Power Pro Varmint, for a velocity of 3,358 FPS from a 24" barrel.
The Alliant site doesn't list starting charges, so I loaded these for Hornady #2249 BTHP 52 gr, OAL 2.233":
PP Varmint 23.2 gr, 23.7 gr, 24.2 gr, 24.7 gr.
The lower end may prove a little underpowered, but at 90% of max they won't have any chance of squibbing. Best accuracy in my Savage 25 usually winds up being about 5-7% under max. If that holds, one of the upper two charges will win the day, and I'll fine tune from there.
