SAW is torture porn, plain and simple. It is moreso an insight into human nature by studying people who get enjoyment out of it.

Yeah, I agree. I watched the first movie and that was IT. I only regret I will never get back that time!!!
What a horrible, claustrophobic, bloody, pointless idea for a movie series.
Hollyweird........

They are covering themselves to help prevent lawsuits in case of a shooting.
No, they're not.

They are assuming a liability that they otherwise would not have.

It's not that they by posting signs they are keeping out law-abiding permit holders. It's by posting signs they are making a promise to the patrons that there are no guns present.

If some loon with a gun opens up in a theater, they'd not generally be liable. But if they establish a no-guns policy - and do absolutely nothing to ensure that said policy is enforced - they are assuming liability.

AMC sucks anyways. I dont go there cause of the popcorn let alone their views on guns. They whole point of CC is to keep it concealed. Like someone else in the thread said, what they dont know wont hurt them.

Care to cite a statute or case where such a sign is considered an assumption of liability?

How about a cite that such a sign constitutes a promise?

Yeah, definitely needs a cite.

You guys are missing the point.

1) The company puts up a sign that basically says that they don't want your business.

2) If you go there anyway, it means that you are accepting that treatment.

Now, do you feel all nice about sneaking your pocket boomstick past the sign, so that you can spend your hard earned money with someone who doesn't really care to have you as a customer?
