AMERICAN DERRINGER QUESTION

Good for them if they are still in business. In the past, there have been forum posts that they weren't and didn't answer e-mails.

Second, there is a new book on women and guns (which I have at work and will look up) that had the author interview the boss at American Derringer who said that a law suit from a cop sunk their company.

I have also read reports that while they bought the Semmerling and the COP 4 barreled gun, they were never really made in quantity.

I hope they are still making new guns. I would love a 4 barrel Sharps clone!
If you are buddy-buddy with the company - tell 'em to post their status here. :neener:

The book is Blown Away by Caitlin Kelly. 2004 - Pocket Books. On pp. 212 -214, Elizabeth Saunders describes her business problems and states that in March 2003 she decided to shutter her business.

If she, in fact, is producing new guns again - more power to her. So Catshooter - my question was legitimate based on a interview with her in a legit book. To you, I say - :neener:

I have a ADC .38 +P and have found it a kick to shoot. yes loaded up it has some bite, but it is not a plinker, it is a chin gun. As in, in the moment of last resort you pull it out and stick it under his chin and ask......Do you feel lucky punk?

I too was under the information that they had folded. I am happy they are back and will do what i can to support them.

I have a Bond Arms Derringer with gold engraved .44 mag barrels! 240 grain JSP factory ammo is breathtaking :)

Great guns, shoots to COM out to over 15 yards. .44 specials are soft to shoot.

Beautiful gun and made to outlast my family for many generations to come.

Carries easy in a front pocket too.

.44 specials are soft to shoot.

What is your height and weight? I am 5'6 at 130 lbs and ... :D

I have experienced the recoil of Walther PPK (.380), 1911 (.45), S&W 4" 686 (.357) and find them managable.
