Just a heads up: it's worth asking your local shop for a lower price on ammo. The hardware store in town has WWB for $11.99/box for 9x19 which is quite high. I asked if he could do better on ammo, and if he could order any brand. I ended up getting a case (1000 rounds) of CCI Blazer Aluminum for $6.75/ea, $142 after tax. His first offer was $7.50 a box and I turned that down, and said if you can do $140, I'll take it. www.natchezss.com currently has them for $5.99/ea but after shipping and insurance it's $140. For the extra $2 it's worth patronizing a local small business. The whole process of selection, negotiation, ordering, and payment took less than 15 minutes. Buying in bulk means fewer trips to the hardware store, gun shop, or Walmart, where I always walk out with more than I intended.
Moral of the story: ask for a lower price! Don't hassle shops over 1 box, but if you're buying in bulk, what do you have to lose? Do your research first and go in to negotiate based on that. Most small shops would rather have half of something than all of nothing.
I also asked if they do FFL transfers and they looked at me like I was from Mars. I'll have to talk to the owner about that.
