live ammo not

We just had a shipment of federal 40 cal ammo shipped and broke open at our post office this week.

Postal inspectors came and picked it up. You can not ship ammo or primers through USPS. They are in big doggy doo over it.

Somebody from Cope's called me last week, said they were dealing with Fedex and asked me to call them back today. I called and they told me they can't do anything about it because Fedex is saying they delivered it. The person I talked to said "You're screwed" (verbatim).

I have filed a police report with the county, and I disputed the charge with my credit card company. Hopefully this will provide enough incentive for somebody at Fedex to get off their ass and do something. More updates to follow...

Cope's should take responsibility for this. I just ordered 1000 rounds of 9mm and 100 rounds were missing when it arrived. Luckygunner was notified. They asked if there were signs of the box being damaged or tampered with. I checked again and sure enough, one side was torn and very nicely taped back up. I sent pictures to LG. they sent me the missing 100 rounds at no charge and said they'd deal with FedEx.

I don't see why this is much different. The shipping service is acting as Cope's client and you say you never rec'd the merchandise. If Cope's doesn't take care of it tell them you'll have the CC company refuse payment to Cope's.

I certainly will stick with companies like Luckygunner who stand by their customers and not order from Cope's unless they make this right with you.

We'll see how it goes. Cope's held up their end of the deal so they should get paid no matter what happens. I want my money or the ammo from Fedex though. Moral of the story is always require a signature, and don't assume someone will ship ammo signature required :(

Check that they weren't dropped at a neighbors. The Fed-Ex guy here can't seemed to figure out which out house numbers and without fails leaves my bullets on the neighbors porch. My current UPS driver is lax about signatures which is OK sometimes unlike today when he left a paychecks worth of custom Grendel upper and scope on the steps.

So in other words Nak, your "honest" answer was a bold faced lie and you and your company basically pulled a fast one over on the shipping company. Ever wonder why costs are so high? Right there is one prime example.

The shipper is the one who lost the packages outside for months.

Parallax,
You have got to be kidding with your "Copes held up their end of the bargin" comment. They chose FedEx as their shipping provider. It's not like you sent your buddy to pick up the order and he lost it. I have a retail business and USPS, FedEx and UPS all Have loose my shipments over the years. I make it right and reship the lost item. It's my problem to keep my customers, not theirs. Do what you want but if you let Copes off he hook you are a sucker.
For the record, I buy ammo from Copes all the time and have nothing against them.

Did you ever get face to face with the FedX driver who was the person that made the delivery? That would have been the first thing I would have done as you could probably tell if he was lying to you about where he left the crate!!!!

Copes is the seller, FedEx is the shipping agent for the seller. As far as the buyer (you) is concerned, Copes and FedEx are one and the same. Copes end of the bargain is to ship the product you paid for to you. To you, not to where ever Copes shipping agent decided to leave it. Until you receive the product you paid for, Copes has not held up their end of the bargain.

Yeah, now that I think about it you guys are right. We'll see what happens. I don't have a lot of hope that I'm going to get the ammo, but maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised.

I don't have a lot of hope that I'm going to get the ammo

Call the seller back tell them that if you don't get your ammo you're canceling the charges. Then you either have your ammo or you have your money.

Disputing charges with a credit card company isn't always a piece of cake. I had a situation where I was charged multiple times by an internet "company." Multiple times I got the credit card company to block the charges, only to have them reappear. They ended up telling me that there was nothing they could do. I said "fine, cancel the card. I'm done." At that, the representative transferred me to a supervisor and I never had another problem. I suppose it helped that I use the card a lot and pay on time. Still, I was ready to carry through on my threat and apparently they knew it.
