If anyone can help me with this question it would be appreciated. I've looked through all the Massachusetts gun laws and can't find a thing. Granted MA gun laws are so confussing and worded so confusingly. Why doesn't anyone ship ammo to MA. Is there a law or some statute that says that its illegle to ship to MA. anyone have an answer for me. On the ammoman site it says according to law we do not ship to MA.
any help would be appreciated

One day the Massachusetts Attorney General Tom Riley woke up and decided to declare himself God. He set about banning handguns that he found offensive and moved on to sue/fine/harass companies like MidwayUsa for selling ammunition to Massachusetts buyers. My understanding is that Midway actually did not do anything more than not require a proper ammo statement, but this was enough to scare the crapola out of a lot, (not all) of out of state retailers - many of whom will now not even ship components to Massachusetts. All this happened while many of the sheep in this state continued to "roll over and take it".... If one reads the actual law, it's a simple conclusion that the law was intended for in state brick-and-mortar ammunition dealers - not for out of state/online retailers. There is absolutely nothing in the law that states: "It is unlawful to ship ammunition to Massachusetts". This however does not matter. Massachusetts has a new LAGG - "Liberal Attorney God General" and nobody wants the hassle - Massachusetts is a small state. If this were Texas, companies like AIM, Midway, CTD, etc would have their litigators scrambling to challenge the AG's office as we'd be a big chunk of their business. There are still companies who ship to MA, but I won;t discuss them in open forums.

Your best bet is to find a friend in a bordering free state, or join GOAL, attend meetings, organize and fight. Other than that, prepare for more of the same here in the land where revolution and freedom began, but has long been forgotten by many who settle to have Beacon Hill dictate government to them from the bent over position.....

PS: If you are not already, you need to join G.O.A.L and NorthEastShooters - There's strength, or at least some comfort in numbers..... ;)

There are no laws which state ammo cannot be shipped here. Our former AG, Herr Reilly :cuss: went after anybody & everybody who did ship here claiming as they did not have a retail location in this state and the required "Massachusetts ammo dealers license", did not collect state sales tax, could not prove the purchaser was licensed, ... blah, blah, blah... :banghead:

Never mind the FACT no laws existed stating what was done was unlawfull... , just sign this document stating you will never sell anything to our subjects again, pay us a fine and go about your businiess - elsewhere.

Nowadays even with the change of AG's (Cloakly's a clone of Reilly) there arent many vendors willing to ship things here.

If and when you DO find a vendor willing to ship here DO NOT post the name of the vendor !

Mass gun laws are worded in an obtuse manner so they can be bent to suit the occasion. (Read prosecute as many law abiding citizens as possible.)

If memory serves me right. Eric (the ammoman) actually did get "fined" by the MA AG. Probably not a legally enforceable fine but most likely paid out of fear of ensueing court action and the need to spend even more money to defend himself in court.

I do believe your memory serves you well. Midway and Ammoman found themselves in the same boat. I think Midway had the power and cash flow to fight, but neither did....It would be nice if Midway didn;t let you get through an entire $#@*&! order process before letting you know. If you have pop-up blocker activated there's no way of knowing - your order just won't process.... :(
